Baltic Adventure: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania - SOLD OUT

Welcome to Tallinn, Estonia! After arriving at the airport, you will make your own way to the hotel. This evening, we will meet your Happy Ambassador and fellow travelers. We will enjoy a medieval dinner and go over the trip together and see what you have to look forward to! 

Hotel: Tallinn City Hotel 

Meals: Dinner at Olde Hanna or similar 

After breakfast, we will have a 6-hour tour to Rummu Quarry and the surrounding coastal cliffs. Begin your tour with a light hike along the forested coastline not far from Tallinn. Visit an abandoned naval fortress which is tucked away in the forest, where it is still possible to explore the dark underground tunnels and the massive concrete structures above the ground.

From there your tour continues to the Keila Waterfall, located in a peaceful manor park with charming bridges and walking paths. Drive through the mostly Russian-speaking city of Paldiski, getting a feel of its industrial Soviet-era neighborhoods.

Following that, visit the local Russian orthodox church to learn about the contrast between Estonian and local Russian cultures. A break for lunch is then provided, during which you can order Estonian food for lunch.

Continue the tour to the Pakri coastal cliffs where you can observe the red lighthouse looking over the vast Baltic Sea. Whilst there, we will visit the Pakri Lighthouse to climb to the top. For the final stop on your tour, drive to the Rummu submerged quarry. Whilst there you can climb up the sandy hills for a view over the entire crystal clear lake and the submerged houses. As you return to Tallinn, you can reflect back on your day filled with nature, alternative off-the-beaten sights, and secret history.

This morning after breakfast, we will enjoy a 3-hour walking tour of Tallinn. Embark on a guided walking tour of the UNESCO Old Town of Tallinn and see all major sights and take pictures from viewing platforms. Navigate the cobblestone streets and delve into Tallinn's history. 

Afterwards, we will have a small break for lunch on your own before we depart for Pärnu. The driving time is 1.5 hours. You will have the evening to explore at your leisure.

Today is yours to enjoy as you please! We are staying at the amazing Hedon Spa & Hotel. Situated on white shores of Pärnu beach, its superb location and fine architecture make it a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The spa side of Hedon is built into the historical mud baths that for long have been one of the symbols of the city. Our entrance to the spa is included. If you wish to book additional spa services, you can do so here. 

The coast of Pärnu County is also full of smaller and more private beach nooks that are great for swimming, having a picnic and enjoying the sunset. Pärnu beach has the best surfing conditions in the Nordic countries. The shallow water and the bay open to the winds make Pärnu a true surfers’ paradise. 

The city is very compact, smart and at the same time proud to have its traditions. You will be welcomed, all year round, by nine unique spas, lots of greenery and an atmosphere characteristic of a resort, with top-class restaurants, cafés, theatre and concert experiences. There are two golf centres near Pärnu. You will also find plenty of opportunities for fishing on the river and on the sea.

This morning we leave Pärnu for Riga. Along the way we will make several amazing stops. After about 2 hours of driving, we will make our first stop at Cesis Castle, one of the most iconic and best preserved medieval castles in Latvia. The foundations of the castle were laid 800 years ago by the Livonian Brothers of the Sword. 

After, we will make our way to Ligatne Soviet Bunker for a guided tour. Driving time from the castle to the bunker is about 30 minutes. Līgatne Bunker, constructed 9 meters beneath the ground, was intended to serve as a shelter for Latvia's Communist elite in case of a hypothetical nuclear war. The bunkers secrecy grading was only removed in 2003. 

After the bunker visit, we will drive another 30 minutes and have entrance to Sigulda Castle. Sigulda Medieval Castle ruins are located on the edge of the Gauja valley in Latvia. The original castle was built in 1207 as a castellum type fortress, later rebuilt into a convent type building. The castle has been the residence of the Land Marshal of the Livonian Order since 1432.

We have a 1 hour drive left before we arrive to Riga, Lativa. We will enjoy dinner upon arrival at the hotel.

Driving Time: 4 hours 

Riga, the capital of Latvia, is not only the crown jewel of Latvia, but also of the Baltics. Riga’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Riga has more than 600 000 inhabitants, making it the largest city in the Baltic States. We will enjoy a 3 hour walking tour of Riga with a local guide. 

Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at Riga Market and a Black Balsam Tasting. 

You will have a free afternoon to explore, shop, and relax on your own.

This morning, we leave Riga to depart for Klaipeda. After driving for an hour and a half, we will arrive at the wine hill of Sabile. Sabile is a small, romantic town located at the most beautiful and deepest part of ancient Abava River Valley. The symbol of Sabile is the Wine hill. that is why there is a bunch of grapes in the coat of arms of Sabile, and these grapes have been cultivated here since the Middle Ages. We will enjoy a tasting of the northernmost open-air winery in the world! 

Afterwards, we will drive another 30 minutes to Kuldiga. The entire town of Kuldiga is a UNESCO World Heritage site and known as the "prettiest town in Latvia," so we have to make a stop here! We will enjoy a lunch in the town and a short amount of free time.

Then, we will continue to our destination of Klaipeda, Lithuania. Klaipėda is a port city in Lithuania, where the Baltic Sea meets the Danė River. The old town features German-style, 18th-century wood-framed buildings. Theater Square, the city’s main gathering spot, is home to the neoclassical Drama Theater. You have free time and dinner on your own.

Driving Time: 4.5 Hours

After breakfast, we will depart first for Rundale Palace. This mighty royal residence built for the Dukes of Courland is in grand condition boasting a French style park with rose garden, fine arts and lavish halls with marble staircases. 

Back on the road we are headed towards one of the most unique sites of prayer, the Hill of Crosses. This ever expanding collection of countless crosses is an idyllic place for remembering loved ones and getting in touch with ones inner thoughts. Visitors are welcome to bring their own cross to add to the Hill of Crosses.

Afterwards, we return to Klaipeda for dinner on your own.

Driving Time: 6 Hours 

Start your day in the charming Juodkrantė, which boasts a beautiful Amber Bay and lots of stone sculptures. After visiting Juodkrantė, drive to the Grey Dunes, more commonly known as the Dead Dunes. Stretching for over one kilometer, the educational trail through the Grey Dunes, that hide as many as four villages and a couple of ancient cemeteries under their sands, will give you a magnificent view of this wonderland, a peek into the history and an opportunity to see something you won’t see anywhere else. Travel to explore one of the most popular dunes on the Lithuanian seaside by climbing up to the famous Parnidis Dune, which reaches over fifty meters. The view that opens from the top will enchant you and make you fall in love with this place.

Continue to the Palanga Amber Museum. The Palanga Amber Museum, near the Baltic Sea in Palanga, Lithuania, is a branch of the Lithuanian Art Museum. It is housed in the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace and is surrounded by the Palanga Botanical Garden.

After entrance and visit to the museum, we will depart for Vilnius. Dinner on your own.

Driving Time: 6.5 Hours

After breakfast, we will travel to Trakai. In the historic city of Trakai, in a traditional Karaites home, you will cook and taste Kybyns, prepared together with the chef and representative of the Karaites community and kitchen.

In the cozy home, you will become acquainted with old-lived history, traditions and the culture of Karaites in Lithuania. You will also find out the secrets of Kybyns and learn a special technique to roll out dough.

With this a fun and easy lesson, you will get to know more about this unique meal, the secrets of which are transferred from generation to generation of Karaites families. Finally, you will enjoy the unique taste of Kybyn made by yourself together.

Afterwards, we will visit Trakai Castle. The castle is famous for its gothic architecture and its special location – it stands on an island on Lake Galve, one of the deepest lakes in Lithuania. The view of the historic structure is straight out of a fairy tale. You can reach the castle by crossing the long wooden bridge. 

Visit the museum inside the castle to explore the exhibitions of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, various archaeological findings and artefacts, as well as a collection of art. In the summer there are medieval festivals as well as various events and concerts in the castle’s courtyard.

We then return to Vilnius for dinner on our own.

This morning, we will have a 3-hour walking for of Vilnius with a local guide. Afterwards, you will have free time for lunch, exploring, and shopping on your own. 

Tonight, we will have our Farewell Dinner which is a National Dinner with Folk Show. Experience Lithuanian culture during 2-hour dinner in the heart of Vilnius Old Town. You will taste ethnic Lithuanian delicacies, surprise yourself with new tastes, indulge in a variety of local drinks, play the drums or sing a part in a live folk music performance and get your legs loose in ethnic dancing.
